The word “organic” refers to the way farmers grow and process agricultural products, such as fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy products and meat. Organic farming practices are designed to encourage soil and water conservation and reduce pollution.
Farmers who grow organic produce and meat don’t use conventional methods to fertilize, control weeds or prevent livestock disease. For example, rather than using chemical weedkillers, organic farmers may conduct more sophisticated crop rotations and spread mulch or manure to keep weeds at bay.
At Wembley SUPA IGA we offer a fantastic range of organic produce and products, many of which are locally produced. We are absolutely committed to ensuring the needs of our customers are always exceeded, so if there is something you would like to see us stock, please do not hesitate to ask or use our online contact form.

Additive Free Easy Shopping
We’ve made it easier to shop Additive Free at Wembley SUPA IGA!
Wembley SUPA IGA is the first supermarket in Australia to partner with Additive Free Kids and assist consumers in identifying additive free products.
Unfortunately, it’s not always easy to identify harmful additives on product labels. The labels don’t always tell the whole story. Any ingredients constituting less than 5% of the product do not even need to be labelled on the product. Manufacturers are able to list additives by either name OR number. That means the consumer has to know both to decipher them. That’s a lot of names and numbers to remember, making it very difficult even for a dedicated consumer. We’ve created Additive Free Easy Shopping to help parents feed their children healthier food that is free of these harmful additives.
How it works?
Products that are FREE of harmful additives are now flagged on the shelves with an easily recognisable logo.
So now when you are shopping, it is quick and easy for you to make your choice. You won’t need to read through the small print on labels as all the hard work has been done for you. In a partnership with Francine Bell, owner of Additive Free Kids and an advisor for the Anti Additive Association, we have reviewed over 7,200 products in our store, and identified over 1,400 items as Additive Free.
Why feed your kids Additive Free?
Food additives are substances added to foods to improve the colour, taste or to keep them fresh for longer. Some additives are harmful. Additives are only tested for physical impacts, not for neurological impacts and their effects on learning and behaviour. Kids may be more susceptible to the effects of additives due to higher relative exposures as compared to adults (due to greater dietary intake per kg). In addition, their detoxification systems are still developing and their key organ systems are still undergoing big changes and maturing. The intake of additives may cause a series of health disorders such as: aggressive behaviour, allergic reactions, asthma, behavioural problems, depression, gastrointestinal ailments, hay fever, headaches and migraines, hyperactivity, learning difficulties, eczema, hives, rashes, sleep disturbances and even cancer.*
